A navalha (ou canivete) é companheira diária de todos os portugueses que vivem fora das cidades. Sempre no bolso, sempre à mão, pronta para cortar uma fatia de pão, um pedaço de queijo ou uma peça de fruta e para servir de ferramenta nas mais diversas actividades. Em muitas casas rurais tem lugar à mesa, sendo pessoal, intransmissível e imprescindível.

Estas navalhas foram produzidas artesanalmente na cutelaria José da Cruz, em Palaçoulo, aldeia de Trás-os-Montes conhecida pelo trabalho de cutelaria e tanoaria.

The pocket knife is a daily companion for all Portuguese living in the countryside. In your pocket, at hand, ready to cut a slice of bread, a piece of cheese or a piece of fruit and to serve as a tool in the most diverse activities. In many rural houses it has its own place at the table, being personal, non-transferable and essential.

This pocket knife was made at the José da Cruz cutlery, in Palaçoulo, a village in Trás-os-Montes known for its cutlery and cooperage work.
