Book series dedicated to cataloguing private collections of art and handicrafts in Portugal. This first volume focuses on the private collection of co-contributor Felipa Almeida, which includes traditional and contemporary ceramics, paintings and other artefacts of Portuguese art.
Felipa Almeida is a curator and art director with a background in Art History, Curatorial Studies, History of Design and Anthropology. Her work is focused on research about objects, material culture, traditions and history of art and crafts, and transposing them into tailor-made projects that celebrate Portuguese culture.
Maria Manuela Restivo is an anthropologist, researcher and independent curator, developing work in the area of vernacular and popular artistic practices. Her PhD focuses on narratives around popular art in Portugal. She has worked as a consultant for various public and private entities, while developing texts, projects and exhibitions around vernacular artistic practices.
