Indigo leaves

Indian hand block print cotton fabric, dyed in indigo with a leaf motif. This plain weave lightweight cambric fabric is suitable for summer garments such as shirts and dresses, or for home decor.

Indigo is a natural dye that gives fabrics a distinctive blue hue. Please note some dye transfer is expected when handling and washing indigo-dyed fabric, and it is advisable not to wear indigo garments with other light-colored clothing. For the first wash, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will fix the dye to help prevent it running. 

Hand block printing is a traditional technique that uses carved wooden blocks. Dye is applied to the blocks, which are then pressed repeatedly against the cloth by skilled artisans to create a patterned fabric.
