Introduction to weaving with Guida Fonseca

Dates:
Saturday and Sunday, 1st and 2nd of July 2023 (the workshop is taught in TWO sessions)
Time: 9am-7pm, with a 1-hour lunch break

Interactive workshop of introduction to weaving, taught over two sessions (in person).

Contents:

- Basics of weaving and how to work with a loom
- Essential prep
- Weaving design
- Weaving materials
- Starting projects
- Calculations for warp and weft
- Setting up the loom
- Making samples
- Finishing techniques

Requirements: participants must be over 14 years old. This workshop will be taught in Portuguese, but the teacher can give instructions in English and French if necessary.

Materials: all materials are included in the workshop fee. We ask participants to bring basic writing material for taking notes.

Withdrawals/refunds: the registration fee will be refunded to students who for some reason cannot participate in the workshop and communicate their withdrawal up to ten days before the workshop date.
