Illustrated children's book about wool spinning in Madeira, where a community of women keep this important traditional practice alive using artisanal techniques passed down through generations. The story follows a wool spinner who begins by choosing the sheep's fleece after the annual shearing. At home, the fleece is washed and the wool is carded, finally followed by the spinning that turns the wool to yarn.
Rafaela Rodrigues is a Portuguese designer and illustrator born in Rio de Janeiro in 1990. As a child she moved to Madeira with her parents, to the place her family is from. She has a degree in Design from the University of Madeira and an MA in Illustration from the Escola Superior ArtÃstica do Porto-Guimarães.
