These rugs are handwoven in Alentejo from rags cut from post-consumer waste (old clothes). They are extremely hardwearing and can be machine washed in warm water. Rag blankets and rugs have been documented in Portugal since the XVIth century and they are still a favorite in our kitchens and bathrooms.
Each rug is unique.
